His favorite part of the job is working with and learning about businesses from all different industries. Jesse received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mississippi College and his CPA license in 2019. Jesse believes in being a hard worker and following through on your word. “My word is my bond, and that has helped me build trust with our clients.”

Shaun has been a dedicated member of LSA since December 2022, assisting clients with accurate and timely bookkeeping. His favorite part of the job is helping small businesses grow by giving them a clear picture of their financials, allowing them to make informed decisions for the future.
Originally from Korea, Shaun earned his accounting degree from Brigham Young University–Idaho and takes great pride in establishing himself in a foreign country. He believes that a happy family life leads to greater productivity at work, making balance a key priority in his career.
Outside of work, Shaun is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, fishing, and camping. He shares his adventures with his husky, who keeps him active and entertained. Known for his resilience, Shaun has a tenacious spirit—no matter the challenge, he always finds a way through.

Candy obtained her Master’s in Business Administration with a focus in accounting and is a CPA. What helps her excel in her career are being patient, well-organized, hard-working, a good listener, and the ability to easily understand financial reports.

Debra Kalco joined LSA as a Compliance Auditor, where she ensures that audit information from clients is accurate and adheres to Title IV regulations. She enjoys learning new programs and connecting with people from all over, making each day a new opportunity for growth.
With years of experience working with the public and in management, Debra brings strong organizational skills and a commitment to integrity and hard work. She is excited to be part of the Lightheart Sanders team and looks forward to new opportunities and continuous learning in her role.
Outside of work, Debra has been happily married since 2012 and is a proud mom of five—four girls and one boy. She loves reading, music, and cheering on her kids as they pursue their hobbies. A lifelong animal lover, she has had more pets than she can count and currently cares for four dogs (Brees, Phoebe, Dutchess, and Freya) and three cats (Mimi, Kit Kat, and Micah). She also spent years helping with her in-laws’ horse rescue.
One of her biggest dreams? Visiting Scotland one day and experiencing its breathtaking landscapes and rich history.

Ann is also committed to ongoing learning and regularly participates in training to grow her expertise.

With a background in administrative roles, Ann’s passion for bookkeeping led her to earn a degree in Bookkeeping and Accounting from the College of Western Idaho, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She’s certified in QuickBooks and other software, and her career has spanned various industries before transitioning to auditing full-time.
Outside of work, Ann is a mother of six, enjoys reading, baking, and spending time in nature. A Leo, her favorite vacation spots are Yellowstone National Park and Scotland, and she’s a big fan of Harry Potter
Jonathan Clark has been a key part of LSA since December 2022, conducting financial audits for small vocational schools across the country. His role involves reviewing financial documents, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and preparing detailed audit reports. He also provides guidance to clients, helping them navigate financial guidelines with confidence.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s in Accounting from Georgia Southern. Before joining LSA, he worked as a staff accountant at a small firm, where he gained experience in bookkeeping, auditing, and taxes. He is currently working toward earning his CPA license.
Building relationships with clients is Jonathan’s favorite part of the job, and his dedication to clear communication and financial integrity makes him a trusted advisor.
Outside of work, Jonathan has a big heart for both people and animals—he is a foster dad and a devoted dog dad to six pups. He’s also a true Sagittarius, always up for an adventure, whether it’s traveling to NYC or unwinding with an episode of Criminal Minds. And when it comes to food, nothing beats a good pizza.

Alex holds a degree in Accounting with a minor in Finance from BYU-Idaho and is currently pursuing an MBA in Sport Entertainment Management at the University of North Texas. Family is central to Alex’s life, and he prioritizes a healthy work-life balance to spend time with them.

Lindsey Chase joined LSA in early 2025 and is currently training as a staff accountant, focusing on bookkeeping. As a natural problem-solver, she enjoys tackling challenges and finding solutions—a skill that will serve her well in her new role.
She is in the final stretch of earning her degree, currently a senior at Brigham Young University–Idaho, with plans to graduate in December. Her passion for accounting stems from her desire to build a fulfilling career while maintaining a strong presence in her family life. Faith and family are the most important aspects of her life, guiding her both personally and professionally.
Outside of work, Lindsey and her husband love country dancing and playing board games together. She has a deep love for music, both playing and teaching piano, and she enjoys baking—especially sourdough bread. Leon Ko joined LSA in January 2025 as a Financial Audit Intern. As he begins his journey in auditing, he is eager to learn the ins and outs of conducting Title IV financial audits while gaining hands-on experience in the field. He appreciates the flexibility of the role and the opportunity it provides for growth and development.
Currently pursuing his degree in Accounting at Brigham Young University–Idaho, Leon is set to graduate in July 2025. He values hard work and continuous learning, always striving to improve both professionally and personally. Work-life integration is important to him, allowing him to balance his responsibilities while enjoying life outside of work.
Outside of auditing, Leon and his wife share a love for basketball—both playing and watching—and are big dog lovers. Though they don’t currently have pets of their own, they each have two dogs back home, who remain a cherished part of their lives. Passionate about travel, Leon enjoys exploring different cultures through food and experiences.

Ayla Smith has been with LSA since October 2024, ensuring the smooth daily operations of the office and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. With an extensive background in administration and IT, she brings efficiency, organization, and a personal touch to everything she does.
Ayla’s favorite part of her job is interacting with clients, building connections, and creating a welcoming environment. She values family above all else, sharing a close bond with her parents and cherishing her role as an aunt to three wonderful nephews.
Outside of work, Ayla is a creative spirit with a love for the arts, nature, and cooking. She enjoys painting, sewing, writing, and tackling DIY projects. Known for her expressive and animated personality, she often entertains friends and family with impressions, funny accents, and even original songs about her cat.

Her commitment to providing a welcoming and positive atmosphere makes a lasting impression on every client she meets.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and over 40 years of office experience, Aurelia brings a wealth of knowledge and professionalism to her role. Dependable, honest, and hardworking, she values integrity in both her career and personal life. A dedicated member of her church, she has held various teaching and leadership positions over the years. Above all, her family is her greatest treasure.
Outside of work, Aurelia has been happily married for 46 years and loves spending time with her two children and four grandchildren. She is an accomplished seamstress with a passion for sewing and alterations, running a business specializing in everything from wedding gowns to prom dresses.
When it’s time to relax, Aurelia enjoys escaping to the mountains or dreaming of another Alaskan cruise. She’s a fan of The Greatest Showman and all things Disney—especially The Lion King.
Lynn Dean has been with the LSA team since 2017 as the Office Manager. She enjoys working with all areas of the firm, especially interacting with clients and staff in the tax, audit, and business accounting departments. She is a Board member of the Madison County Chamber of Commerce and a part of Leadership Madison County. Lynn also helps to coordinate the Firm’s annual Open House fundraiser for charity.
